Paul Kerouac claims in a lawsuit filed Wednesday that Dunkin’ Donuts employees at the Winter Park location where he was injured knew a toilet in their restaurant represented a potential danger to patrons. The commode exploded while he was attending the lavatory leaving debris all over the bathroom and also covering Kerouac in urine and feces. The lawsuit claims Kerouac requires ongoing mental health care as a result of the “trauma” he experienced on Jan. 6, 2022, asks for damages exceeding $50,000, in part because Kerouac has lost “the capacity for the enjoyment of life.” It also alleges unspecified physical injuries.
